Guy Wire Insulators

Hi Geoff, saw your note note abt insulating guy wires. I have a similar
situation with 3 towers with sidemounted antennas and wondered abt the
interaction with the guy wires. I talked to Brian, K6STI, who writes the
MN and YO software about the problem and he generated a program that allows
you to easily add guy wires of various lengths to the antenna file for MN.
I would suggest you call Brian to determine the availablity of that program
for your use. If you are having trouble with not enough segments to model
the guy wires, you may want to talk to him about upgrading to the latest
version of MN, I think he's up to version 5.0 now. Brian can be reached at
619-945-9824.
I'm including the .ANT files for the HyGain 5 element monobanders.
These were output from the YO program and although they don't include the
boom mounting correction, should be fairly close. I have a much better 5
element 10 mtr design on the same boom that was published a few years ago
in the NCJ. If I can be of any help, let me know.

Note: This antenna has more gain and better pattern than stock HyGain. Also
has better clearance for sidemounting than stock.
