4J1FM AND 4J1FW, MALYJ VYSOTSKIJ (UPDATE). This operation took place
October 22-25 with 10 operators. 4J1FM was used outside of the contest
and made around 6000 QSOs on 160-10 meters including the WARC bands.
4J1FW, in the CQ WW SSB Contest, made 5780 QSOs, 643 multipliers and
expects around 7.5 million points. This was the last operation from M-V
Island with the 4J prefix. As of January 1st, Azerbaidjan will be
assigned this prefix.
C9, MOZAMBIQUE. Bruno, HB9BEI, who has been operating from the home of
C9RJJ, has received his license a few weeks ago and is now signing C9REI.
Bruno will probably be active from the club station of C9TDM. Do not send
QSLs to W8GIO (QSL Manager for C9RJJ and C9TDM). Send QSLs to HB9BEI's
callbook address.
FR/G, GLORIOSO ISLANDS. Yoland, FR5AI, continues to be active until the
end of November. List operations will continue on 28545 kHz starting as
early as 1230z and Yoland has been heard most mornings around 28022 kHz
at 1215z.
KH2, GUAM. Jun, JH4RHF, and about 9 others will be active as KH2S, for
a multi-single operation in the upcoming CQ WW CW Contest. Activities
before the contest will include RTTY, WARC and 6 meters with each operator
using their own call sign. QSL for KH2S go to JH4RHF and all others via
the Bureau.
LX, LUXEMBOURG. A group of Dutch radio amateurs are now active until
November 11 from the small village of Bech. This group is organized by
the DAGOE Foundation (Dutch Amateurs Going on Expedition) and will be
signing LX/ in front of the call signs. QSL via the Dutch Bureau. An
award will be available for 3 QSO's ( or heard as a SWL) with is group.
(3 different ops, 3 different bands, etc.) Use a standard GCR list or
log signed by 2 other amateurs and send it to: The DAGOE Foundation,
P.O. Box 356, 3300 AJ Dordrecht, The Netherlands. Do not send any money
or IRCs, it is a FREE award.
RTTY ACTIVITY. EI2DQ 14086/1752z, EI4Z 14087/1134z, ES7FQ 14090/0829z,
FP5HL 21082/1420z, S51CN 21087/1416z, SV1ACN 14089/1821z, SV2BBO
14086/1424z, RC2AY 14088/1349z, UC2OS 14087/1343z, 4L2EA 28088/1057z,
7X2DS 14089/1055z and 9A3IM 14086/1514z.
TI9, COCOS ISLAND. It has been reported that the operators of the TI9JJP
operation are having generator problems. This is why there is so little
activity by them. Their operation was to have lasted until November 11th.
TT8, CHAD (UPDATE). Ken, WA4OBO, (who will be operating as TT8OBO) has
reported that because of jet lag, scheduling, and Veteran's Day, he
does not expect to be able to be QRV until November 12 at the earliest.
He will need the help of the American Embassy to spring his gear from
customs and they will not re-open until the 12th. He did mention that
he will try and hit 75 meters pretty hard on November 14-15-16, but no
frequencies were mentioned. He will also have a roommate who is a good
CW operator, and we may find both are active on different bands
simultaneously.
V3, BELIZE. ISAO, JH1ROJ, will be active from November 20th to the 25th
or as late as the 27th. His expected call sign will be V31RO. He will
operate CW/SSB/RTTY on 75 to 10 meters. On CW, look for him close to the
band edge. For SSB check between 14140-14145 kHz and 21170-21195 kHz to
avoid the usual DX frequencies. On RTTY, check between 85 to 95 kHz from
the band edge, but listening 100 to 110 kHz or higher. QSL to: Isao
Numaguchi, 4-9-32, Naka Aoki, Kawaguchi, Saitama 332, Japan.
V63, MICRONESIA. Paul, K4FAF, from South Carolina, is headed for Pulawat
Island (OC-155) in the Micronesian group, and will arrive there around
December 8. He is accompanying his XYL on a medical mission there, and
is taking a small rig and a long wire. Except for a small generator, there
is no electricity on the island, and he is not sure of the status of it,
or the a place of operation. He has applied for a V6 call, but has
not received it as yet. He expects to operate 20 meters and possibly
some on 15 and 10 meters depending on local conditions. He operates both
CW and SSB. As more information becomes available it will be published.
ZL8, KERMADEC ISLANDS. It was announced on the INDEXA Net that there may
be a possible Kermadec operation on from November 10 thru the 24. There
was no information given as to who will go and operate there.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION BY THE DX COMMUNITY. The Northern Ohio DX Association
presented Myron Stoll (Known by many as "Mr. Myron.) with a plaque that
recognized him as an ambassador of good will. This presentation was unique
because "Mr. Myron" is a non-amateur. "Mr. Myron" has acted as a courier
in delivering and receiving QSL cards for many DXers. His travels to the
Ukraine and working with NODXA's very good friend Nick, RT5UN, has
retrieved cards from many DX operations. (EX. YA5MM, YA0RR, 3W3RR, most
of Romeo's DXpeditions, D2ACA, UC2 cards and many others.) "Mr. Myron"
felt very honored and stated he enjoyed working with the amateur community.
