I'll try the resistor and let you know what happens. If it works, it
will make a LOT of Yaesu owners happy. You wouldn't believe how many
people have written to me today who have had exactly the same problems
I have had.

It occurs to me that many of us have memories of KH6IJ that we wish to
share, and that might bring some pleasure to his family. If you want,
send me mail at the address below, I'll take the responsibility of
building a file and sending it on to them in some appropriate form. This
way, though we can't attend his memorial service, they'll know he is
well-remembered on the mainland and beyond (European and other inputs
welcome too!)
