True, and I sympathize, both with your problems and with the League's.
But publishing data that has presumably already been cast into
electronic form (prior to typesetting) SHOULD be a much more simple
matter than resolving all the variability that results from the
attempt to accept incoming electronic data. The League has placed
other information from its publications on its BBS.
The bottom line: electronic publishing of contest results would
benefit the contesting community far more than tinkering with the
printed results, allowing the contributing writers/editors to focus
on the editorial content of the writeup.

I've sent many logs to ARRL via Internet and all (including the puny ones) have
made to the listings. For Internet logs, you will get a return receipt that
your log has been received. The few times that I haven't received an
acknowledgement a short email to Billy Lunt has resolved the problem. I always
save the acknowledgements (as well as the outgoing message) just in case the
log doesn't make the listing.

1. I am very happy with the way the listings were presented in QST.
True the certificate winners could probably be in bold.
2. I sent my logs in via Internet for SS also. Got an
acknowledgement. Both my logs were listed but the CW log was under
Single-op when it was a Multi-Single like the SSB operation. There
was only two of us operating, but both were listed on the summary
sheet. Very convenient hope the 'bugs' get worked out.

The League is using the Paradox database program for maintaining the
scores and preparing the results. It should be a simple matter to make
the scores available in ASCII format or in Paradox format.
Since the scores are published, there should be no legal or other reasons
why they could not be distributed electronicly.
If there is concern about the work effort involved, it is simply a matter
of putting them on a public BBS and letting the natural flow of
electronic matter do the rest.

I received a letter from Jiri Kral, OK2RZ, today. He will be coming to
the United States to visit his son who is an exchange student. He would
also like to visit some contesters along the way.

become a one-year exchange student in Central, SC. I thought that at the
end of his stay in the USA I would come to "pick him up". The school
year end in the June and there's not much time left. ... We would like to
make a little non-DX expedition caravan-style from SC to NC, VA, MD, PA,
NJ, NYC, CT, MA and back to Buffalo, NY, PA, WV, NC, TN and SC.
On our way I thought it would be nice to meet at least a few OM just to
have a short eye-ball QSO. I would appreciate if you could answer me a
few questions:
- Is it possible for a HAM from OK to get a permission to operate as a
W/OK2RZ, while in your country or do I have to try to get the original US
license? I would like to try to work over repeaters on 2m/FM and maybe
even on HF.
