Sure glad I put up a beverage Saturday AM. 160 was awesome from 0400Z-0430Z.
Never dreamed I could hear, much less work, barefoot east coast stations
through S9+40 static. Having a gain antenna for the S&P station was
really nice for working weak stations on 15 meters. Was very discouraging
moving loud stations from 15 to 10 meters Saturday PM - success rate was
<10%. Much better Saturday evening - should have moved more. High point
was having K7QD in Idaho call me on 40 meters around 0300Z - then moving
him to every other band (successfully) in the next 3 minutes.

Thanks to everyone who worked me !

I told myself Saturday that I would make 100 QSO's in the NAQP. I would
only call CQ on "good" bands, not S&P. I would, however, call if it was
back scatter on 10 or 15M.

N2IC gets the award for "quickest to find me on a new band". Within 10
QSO's on 20 and 40 meters Steve had found me.

NP4Z gets the award for "should win the contest".

K4PQL gets the award for "Gee, I can't believe he heard me on 10M using my
40M yagi!"

Used two radios this time...lots of fun. Antennas: 40m dipole, 40m delta
loop, 160 inverted L. Probably should have spent more time on 10/15.
Still get lots of requests to repeat my name...maybe I should change to
'Beetle' or 'Wingnut.'

I have uploaded a new CQWW.CTY (for CT 7.xx and 8.xx) and CTY.DAT (for CT
9.0x) to the CT-USER file archive. To download these files, send one or
both of the following commands to MajorDomo@mlo.dec.com:

        get ct-user cqww.cty
        get ct-user cty.dat

The files may be available for FTP access in a couple of days. Check:

        gatekeeper.dec.com:/pub/misc/hamradio/cty.zip

for a file dated August 8, 1994 or later.

The only change is to remove UN1, Karelo-Finish Republic from the list. The
DARC no longer considers this a separate country.

Thanks to everyone that copied my puny signal, especially those 7 stations
on 160. Its easy for me to tell who has the best ears!
