Gee, what is this? Before you get snippy, find out WHY we were booting
from a floppy. The machine was used by several other operators during the
contest, none of whom were familiar with Win95. In addition, we used the
autosave feature of CT. Booting Win95 with a floppy and batch files gave
a completely "hands-off, no-brainer" reboot to CT in case of a power
drop. Sounds like you didn't trust it because you didn't know what you
were doing...

Admitting in advance that I regard WINDOZE as a virus, I gotta wonder why
anyone would NEED to use any version of it when CT and NA both run just
FINE in DOS? Why add additional complexity to what is (after all) a very
simple process?

(this is an example of what W6QHS calls "close stacking" :-).
130' open wire fed inv Vee at 70' for 80 and 160.
Two Icom 765s, ICE filters, Top Ten decoders, NA logging software.
Comments:
Score down a bit from last year, even though propagation on the high
bands was improved. Totals on 10, 15, and 20 up from last year, but
not enough to compensate for drops on the low bands. A thunderstorm
came through late in the afternoon causing very high QRN for the
entire contest.
This was my first naqp using 2 radios. I probably made 80 or 90 Qs on
the second radio, and it felt like it was helping a lot, but when it
was over I was surprised to find I had done better last year with one
radio. More practice is needed! N6ZZ's comments struck home.
