Tree,
I was wondering.... when we send you our logs for the
NA sprint would it make it easier for you if we e-mail the .QDF
file from NA or is an ASCII copy the log that I have been sending
in the past just as good for you.

Lots of fun!! The 48-hour-work-'em-till-u-drop rule is.... what?? As soon
as the brain unfuzzes I'll let you know!
High points: Finding VK9LZ (Lord Howe Island) a few minutes after midnight
local time calling CQ with few takers. Got him first call. Also stumbling
across TY8G with 11 minutes to go, also CQing with few takers, also got him
on first call. All time new one!

Subject: splitting bevereges
Message-ID: <199509251047.GAA29107@franklin.vf.mmc.com>
yes it is possible. we can run 3 bands on the same beverege here if
40, 80, and 160m all select the same one. i have 6 directions of bevereges
and any of the 3 bands can pick any of them at any time. there are just
two things to watch for.
1. if you can accept a few db loss you can just put a t connector in the line
and split the signal to each radio. the problem with this is that if one
radio shuts off the beverege that piece of cable now looks like an open
ended stub and depending on its lenght and the band the other station is on
it may cut out more signal. if you keep the lines short from the t to each
radio this should not be a big problem.
2. if you have longer line or problems with overload from one tx onto the
other rx you can do like i do. at the point where i split to go to the
different radios i put bandpass filters (w3lpl design out of old ncj). these
filters have a high input impedance outside their passband so it effectively
cuts off the cable to the radio from the rest of the radios, eliminating the
'stub' problem. it also provides lots of interference reduction between
bands.
