I made the experience that it is much easier to write down fast CW if the
text doesn't make any sense. While copying complete sentences in your
native language you almost permanently consider different possibilities what
letter (or word) will follow. This is because you instinctively try to
guess the meaning of the whole sentence before it has been sent completely.
You easily get stuck if "unexpected" signs follow or someone implements
incorrect spellings (very dirty method however hi..)! However, once you
have written down most of it you might be able to fill gaps..
If you are not familiar with that language you fully concentrate on writing
it down letter by letter like random code.

Does anyone, within a hundred mile radius of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
have, or know someone that has, a U.S. Tower TX455? WA3HAE has the
tower, but did not get the winch that "lifts" the tower from the "fold
over" position. He is desparate to get the tower up for the CQP test
this weekend.
If you have the winch and would be willing to loan it, or perhaps know
someone who does, we promise to get it back within two days.

Here's one for y'all (Been hanging around Richard too long...) -
I'm side-mounting a Mosley 2el 40m beam at 75' on Rohn 25, with one face
of the tower oriented due north-south. The station is located in the
Hudson Valley of New York, and I plan to be active during both stateside
and DX contests.
Here's the question. The IIX RM-16 sidemount allows 300 degrees of
rotation about the tower. This leaves a 60 degree "blind spot". The
following is my list of blind spots. Please pick which one you thing
would be best (or least bad), and tell me why. I'll try to summarize, or
forward the replies to someone who can (listening, Scott?).
N (330-30) S (150-210) SW (210-270) SE (90-150)
NW (270-330) NE (30-90) [I know, but I said six choices...]

Fellow Contesters,
I posted an inquiry last year regarding a problem I am having with CVB
2.0. I received several suggestions and some replies from other who
where having similar problems.
Given the approach of the contest season, I'm reposting in the hope that
someone has solved this problem.
The symptoms are that everything works as it should except if one
escapes from a message while it's playing or attempts to play a second
message while one is playing. Under these conditions the volume of the
second message drops to a muffled mumble in the background. To restore
operation one must unload and reload CVB.
I've tried playing with IRQs and addresses to no avail as well as
stripping the machine to the bare necessities.
I'm using a Packard Bell 386SX16 with an 8 bit Sound Blaster.
Any ideas??
