Hello:
I suppose the large Multi Op contest stations must use PacketCluster to be
competitive, but for me searching the bands for multipliers is more than half
the fun of a contest (especially a DX test). Now that PacketCluster use is so
widespread, it is even more gratifying to find a juicy mult before the pack
descends.
I use PacketCluster outside of contests and enjoy it, but usually put out
more spots than I find interesting. Only used it once during the 95 ARRL 160
to try to work WAS in a part time effort. In the end, I found them all
without packet anyway.
As for the Internet link, I would tend to agree with KI3V if the connections
were computer to computer via straight landline, but if the connections on
one end originate over radio, or if the link is partially by radio, then I
see little distinction between this and a straight radio link. Like QRO, it
would be impossible to police even if Internet linking were prohibited.
I think K3ZO has the right approach.

with straight key, either 63 or 64--can't remember exact year, but it was
before HS graduation in 65.
