Morel:
As I've heard the story, the Bulgarian factory which produces the
Alpha 91B does so under a contract to manufacture for Alpha Power. They
have designed their own amplifier, which is the one I believe that you
will see in Germany.
There is, however, no such thing as a free lunch. Alpha has a
marketing organization, world wide distribution, service facilities, and
a very experienced design team. The new Bulgarian effort could be very
good indeed, but it is new, although obviously experienced by virtue of
their Alpha manufacturing experience.
In other words, the Bulgarians have already learned to
manufacture to "Western" standards (standards which we've all realized
are sometimes set by the Japanese).
