Contest / DX -meeting in Helsinki on Sunday 18-Jan-1998

Contest Club Finland (CCF) is arranging a contest / DX -oriented Sunday
afternoon/evening in Helsinki on 18-Jan-1998. Come and enjoy all the
most interesting and "fresh" contest / DX -pedition -presentations
together with lots of your fellow contesters! The meeting starts at 2
PM and ends at around 7 PM, after which the "rag-chewing" carries on in
a nearby restaurant with some good food, freshening beverages and the
best company you could ever ask for !

Come to hear, see and feel yourself, how the entire contest community
was badly "shaken" by some recent CQWW contest operations based on
verticals and wires! Do you really need all those fancy elements and
high towers to become a *Winner* ?

Come and meet Kenny K2KW, who tells you all there's to know about 6Y4A
- the phenomenal CQWW 1997 multi/multi operation - and how and *why* to
do it with verticals and wires !

Come and meet Pekka OH2TA/OH0TA (ex OH2BVF), who tells you all about the
recent Icelandic/Finnish/American operation from TF3IRA and how to
"reach the top of Europe from the top of Europe" with wires !

Come and meet our "man of the world" - Olli OH0XX (LU/OH0XX) - who
tells you how it is like to be constantly "hunted" as a rare South
American (double) multiplier while operating from 8R1K or CP6AA !

Come and meet Jorma OH2KI (ZB2X) and Antti OH2DT (ZB2/OH2DT), who tell
you all (that we up here in Scandinavia don't necessarily even want to
hear) about the 10m (and other bands) conditions in ZB2...

And that's not all - folks! There's more...

There will be a LOT to remember from this Contest Club Finland
meeting. Don't miss it!

The meeting will take place in the auditorium of the main building of
Finnish Broadcasting Company (quite cool surroundings for this kind of a
meeting, eh?) located about 5 km north of the city center, in a suburb
called Lansi-Pasila. The street address is Radiokatu 1 (Radiogatan 1)
i.e. "Radiostreet 1" (quite a cool address, too ;-) The building is
called "Iso Paja" and it's next door to the new ice-hockey stadium
called "Hartwall Arena".

A *huge* THANK YOU goes to the amateur radio club of FBC - OH2NM - and
especially to OM Teukka/OH1BV - for arranging this marvellous place for
our meeting!

If you need accommodation, a good choice could be Hotel Pasila, which is
the closest hotel (5 min walk) to the meeting place. Call
+358-(0)9-131001 for reservations.
