Well it has finally turned cold here in Raleigh; had the first frost this
morning since the CQWW SSB. As a result, there are no excuses for anyone
in this area not having finished all of their fall antenna projects for
this weekend's 10 Meter Contest.

Stopped by the PO box on the way to work this morning and found the
latest CQ Contest. The front cover photo shows what a winter storm does
to the quads at DF0HQ.

Feature articles:
P49V - Contesting from Aruba, Part 1
Results - 1997 Stew Perry Top-Band Distance Challenge, and 98 Rules
H75A - The Road Less Traveled (an IOTA DXpedition to Isla De Venado - YN)

Regular Departments:
The Band Edge - Lessons Learned (editorial)
Operating Techniques - Spousal Support
SWL World News - More SWL Contests are Born
In The Beginning - Contest Registry and M/S - K9IG & KB9THU
VHF Contest Forum - A Weekend to Remember, September 98 VHF Contest
Continental Countdown - Contesting from Argentina, Rules for the World
Wide Locator Contest, and WP3A and the 98 WPX
CW
Monthly Collectible - 1999 Yearly Contest Calendar
A Conversation With - HC1OT

That's all for this issue.

Don't forget the ARRL 10 Meter Contest this weekend. Today is a good day
to re-read KZ5MM's article in the Nov/Dec NCJ re the 10 Meter Contest,
titled "The World's Toughest Radio Contest". Everyone can work anyone
for points! Good Luck!

73 and good reading,
