I got such a pair. Progressive focus lens. Top focuses at far arms
length, bottom at 12-14. A little expensive, but they are wonderful. I
use them at work (all day on a workstation terminal) and at the rig. I
tried this once with a pair that was bifocal with the break through
the middle of the glasses, but I found myself being bothered by the
change in focus. The progressives solved that. The lessening in strain
over a contest is wonderful.

Also, since the change in focal length is far more gentle than regular
general use progressives, the "hour glass effect" is almost
non-existent. If I am "aimed right" I can read an entire 21" monitor
screen without turning or tilting my head. Neat.

They are also much more confortable for reading than my regular
progressives.

If you're presbyopic and a contester, you might want to try these.
