Sounds like sour grapes to me. So what if the winner wasn't from FRC, Doug?

The "winner" of that "contest" (which brought no prize!) had graduated form
college the weekend before...the youngest contester in the room was Florida
Contest Group's own: N4GI. Blake has had the good fortune of being exposed
to contesting by a college ham club counselor, and contest enthusiast. That
college advisor by DOING SOMETHING helped to increase our ranks as
contesters....

WD4AHZ made a posting about the upcoming Field Day exercise. When I was on
the Contest Advisory Committee a few years back all of the CAC members at
Dayton talked about the death of the Novice Roundup and it turned out we all
had gotten our exposure to contesting when we went to a Field Day...

LETS REMEMBER FD IN A FEW WEEKS -------> Not necessarily as a contesting
exercise (which FD is NOT) but as a recruitment opportunity!

Go to Field Day, have a young guy help you logging or better yet, let him
make the contacts and you log for him....you never know if you might be
getting the next K1TO or N5TJ's eyes opened to this incredibly fun aspect of
amateur radio!
