I always thought that it was the input power we (ie. DX) were supposed to
send. So two years ago I worked a few folk and sent 59 600 (I think) and was
told by one gent that I was declaring an illegal power value (400w output
max in UK). I said that 600 was the correct figure and I was happy with
it. - because I thought it was input power I was supposed to send. Was it
ever input power, or have I been misled? I thought it was.

I believe, it is not a new topic. Can anybody refresh my mind, what is the
status or a consensus with the discrepancy between the rules of IARU
contests, being "Ch.4.2. DX stations send signal report and power (number
indicating approx. transmitter output power)", and the fact that most of HP
stations send, 59 KW, or just 59 K.
So, can I send 599 KW, and if so, what should I write in my log than?
