While I agree with Doug that an unproductive frequency is fair game, I just
can't justify deliberately breaking up someone's run. I'd like to think there
is some reasonable compromise between being competitive, and being a jerk.
Some very successful contesters seem to have found that middle ground.
It would be nice if we could find some way to give smaller stations access to
run frequencies, especially late in the contest. By then, the big guns
occupying the available bandwidth are running at very low rates, while
presumably lots of stations who have not worked each other (but have worked
all the big guns) are tuning around looking for something new. It wouldn't
help the big guns, but it sure would make things more interesting for the rest
of us. And, who knows, if word gets out that you can have more fun with a
small station, even the big guys might benefit.
