This, I believe, is the crucial issue.  Clearly Fred does not deliberately
fire up his CQ on top of a QRP station with an active run going.  Doesn't seem
to hurt his scores much.

The Northern California Contest Club is pleased to announce:

****2nd Annual International DX Convention Contest Dinner****

The dinner will take place on Friday, April 14, 2000 at 8:00 p.m.
(cash bar opens at 7:00 p.m.)

Located in the Laurel and Birch rooms at the Holiday Inn Visalia, 9000 West
Airport Drive, Visalia, CA

Menu: Prime Rib of Beef -- $28.50 /or/ Chicken Princess -- $23

Meals include salad, entree, potato, vegetable, bread, tea/coffee, dessert
and all taxes and gratuity.  Chicken Princess is a grilled chicken breast
topped with asparagus, shrimp, and a cream-wine sauce.  Cash bar will remain
open during dinner.

Seating is random and not reserved. Tables are set in rounds of 10.

Tickets: Tickets will be held at the door for pickup beginning at 6pm, April
14 (or see K2KW in the halls).  If you prefer, tickets will be mailed to you
ONLY if you supply Champion Radio with a SASE by March 31.

There will be a short program on contesting, guest speaker, and door prizes.

Many contesters from around the world have already made their reservations.
