Clicks are like hydrocarbon emissions. Most people don't care if
they have them, and neither do the manufacturers, until we all start
to choke on the bad air quality.
Factually, not emotionally, it is easy to PROVE most radios today
are a giant step backwards in emissions purity related to
modulation products or keying.
It isn't cost related, it is design attention issue.
