Actually, if it's the MFJ890, then it's just a clock. It synchronizes (via 
WWVB LF signals) with the time and then LED's placed at the approximate 
location of the NCDXF propagation beacons on a map, light up at the time that 
the beacons are transmitting.

Seems much easier to just copy the code at 18 WPM to me ...
