In the ARRL 160 Meter Contest results listing and scores database,
P40TA (K6TA, opr) is shown as:
P40TA 124,960 - 739 - 88 - C
With a maximum of 80 Sections available, the listed 88 is clearly wrong.
In addition, his claimed score included only 76 Sections, so even a typo
of "78" is unlikely!
I notice that none of the non-W/VE scores seem to be calculated
correctly. Each QSO by a non-W/VE station is worth 2 points, and
so the # QSOs and # mults should be directly usable to calculate
the published score. The numbers don't agree.
ZF2NT 150,176 993 76 [(993x2) x 76 = 150,936]
FM5GU 121,804 837 74 [(837x2) x 74 = 123,876]
ZF2AH 77,088 548 73 [(548x2) x 73 = 80,008]
etc.
What am I missing? Do computers not multiply correctly anymore?
