[CQ-Contest] mass QSL-card address-label printing?

Subject: [CQ-Contest] mass QSL-card address-label printing?

From past experience, I would really suggest printing the information
directly on the QSL cards. The labels can be a real pain and take more
time to peel and stick than you would think. Other problems are cost of
labels, added bulk of labels on cards, etc. I would suggest a laser
printer. Many printers do not easily handle QSL cards. An used HP LJ5
can inexpensively fill the bill. Many of the user of the LJ-5 sold at
bargain prices or gave them away because they all started dragging
multiple sheets of paper through at one time. The good news is that is
easily and quickly remedied with a free repair kit available on HP's
website (they even pay postage.)

As for the addresses I would suggest importing the contesting logs into
a full featured logging program that can allow you to design custom
reports, do mass lookups of addresses from callbook CD-ROM, etc. I have
used PDA's LOGic ( http://www.hosenose.com/radio/default.asp ) for many
years to accomplish this (there are others out there, but this is the
one I have had experience with.)
