Thank You Steve!

Two new electric fence problems have surfaced at this QTH
in recent months. I've isolated one of 'em and will use
your advice to help the owner to reduce EMI.

Unfortunately, my new neighbor is committed to install an electrical fence around his twenty acre horse property next to us. Are there any "OK" versus "bad" types of voltage chargers I can recommend to him?

versus "bad" types of insulation or support poles?

A properly installed fence charger system is typically pretty benign. The main RF generating problems are: 1) poor ground at the charger and 2) plant growth across the fence wire. Since it's a new system, #2 probably won't apply.

Maybe you want to volunteer to help him install it to insure its reliability and proper installation. I'm not familiar with any specific units or their problems.
