Fun reading....

I guess many guys who sign /qrp during the contest are just qrpers who
normally and sign /qrp for casual qsos, but get on during the 'test.

It is very common for qrpers to sign /qrp for casual qso's. I know...I work
lots 'em...errr. us? When they hear that I am also qrp (from the text of my
message/qso, not from the "suffix" /qrp), they seem to delight in signing MY
CALL/qrp de THEIR CALL/qrp, thereby indicating a (wow) 2x qrp qso (the "wow"
is TIC).

Here's what gets me....as a die-hard qrp contester, I am frequently "slowed
down" by the QRO guy stopping his "run" and asking me, "RU qrp?" or "hw mni
mw?" or something like that..yeah, I did some contests with 300 mw output.
Even the famed ZD8Z has slowed things down to inquire about my power. :-)
Of course, he has recently descended to working (OMG) single band, so maybe
he is just, ummm, aging.

Others that come to mind are DJ6SI, F6BEE, and lots of G's, S50's and HA's.
Maybe they just want to be sure that their coax didn't just fall off their
antenna.
