Just for fun I went through my first 100 QSOs from this year's SS CW to see
what the check was. It was purely the S/P guys calling, since I was just
running.

Although you can send any number you want for a check, your first license,
the station owner's license, or even your wife's bra size, most guys send the
first year they were licensed.

The numbers:

30-39............1
40-49............2
50-59............27
60-69...........26
70-79...........26
80-89...........7
90-99..........8
00-05...........3

The old pharts (including yours truly, CK 62) from 50-79 make up over 75% of
the guys. While 80-05 are a miserly 18%. These no way mirror the numbers
from last year's SS SB.
CW contesters in the US are fading fast. Just wait until the next wave of
the no-code guys hit HF...new blood for SSB domestic contests, but not much for
CW.

Bob Dylan.......the times today are a changin'
