10m from the Southern Hemisphere (it is summer here) can be quite 
extraordinary and unpredictable. If conditions even half cooperate, you 
will work a lot more than you ever expect.  AND don't be put off by a 
seemingly dead band either..   Now touch wood, I will get my 'big' yagi in 
the air again before the contest starts.   I lost my 65' long 8 ele yagi 
in February to beauracracy, and now a 50' long 7 ele yagi is almost 
complete.... and the USA to East VK is a perfect double hop..
