G3MLO has just phoned me to pass on the sad news that Frank Cooper G2QT
died at the weekend at the age of 91. He was a beacon in the ARRL
contests for many years and perhaps it is fitting that he passed on
during the phone weekend of one of his most favourite events.
A few years ago when well into his eighties he visited Dayton and was
delighted to meet many contesters in person. His antenna farm near
Ashford in Kent was a local landmark.
