October 7 will be the date for a combined meeting of the DX BASH and CTDXCC
Contest Branch meeting. October 7 is the same day as the Belton Hamfest so
you can make both on the same day. Come on anytime Saturday and join the
fun. Directions are www.lakebuchanan.com/directions and the incredible
W5KFT ranch and lake-side station location is described here:
http://www.kkn.net/~w5kft/

Lunch will be served around 1 PM so folks will have time to make Belton in
the morning and still be at the BASH in time for lunch.

Programs after lunch will be Dick Weber K5IU doing Insight Into Some
Effects That Contribute to HF Antenna Performance. The
Contest Branch of CTDXCC will also be doing a program on Saturday afternoon
on contesting, when Gary, W5ZL, will moderate a panel discussion and
audience Q&A session on "Strategies for Contesting with Different Power
Levels." Panelists will include Robert, K5PI, Marv, N5AW, and Dale, KG5U,
who will represent the HP, LP, and QRP approaches.

In addition, K5PI will lead a tour of the W5KFT station and antenna farm.
The CTDXCC Contest Branch acknowledges the help from super-host Bryan,
W5KFT, for hosting this session, and integrating both get-togethers.

Around 5:30-6 PM the gang will go to Cooper's BBQ in Llano for
dinner. Back to the ranch after that for late night sessions.

See you October 7.

Please forward this announcement to other club reflectors or email chains.
Thanks!

Jim George, N3BB, (CTDXCC Secretary for the CTDXCC Contest Branch)
