I agree that a mistake should be corrected at the time is was made. If your
running a 200/hr clip, you'd better know how to type fast but if you make a
mistake, take a few seconds to correct it and then move on.
On another note, I can assure you that radiosport is NOT the only
competition where the participant wants "do-overs". I've had lots of golf
shots that I wish I could take back. Ask Bill Buckner about his dream
"do-over". :)
On the question of post-contest log massaging.... seeing how I got jumped on
for suggesting that logging programs have a feature that allows the log to
be quickly or automatically sent to the sponsors after a contest, how about
this one? How about if the logging software automatically stops at the end
of the contest and encrypts the log file, locks it from further editing and
can only be opened by the contest sponsors?
Again, this is just a thought for discussion... not a directive for
immediate implementation.
