I confess I had momentarily considered shortening the KL8C CK to either t7
or o7 - (the letter "o") 7 -, but felt that would bring too much confusion
so opt'd for the STANDARD of _ _ _ _ _ 7.
The multitude of QRP stations I worked in SS from KL8C generally faded in
and out trying to get the complete callsign (maybe something unique to
Alaska?), or would disappear into my noise briefly before QSBing back in and
out again during their exchange. It was pure AGONY trying to complete valid
two-way QSOs with these stations, and hard enough to copy legitimate QSO &
CK numbers.
Please, NO friggin' cut numbers in either the QSO or CK numbers for SS. If
only HP and LP stations are allowed in Sweepstakes, well, I might
reconsider.
Tnx & 73.
Rick, K6VVA (also for KL8C)
