[CQ-Contest] Call signs

Howdy all

In reading a lot of the 3830 posts, I see a lot of "Thanks to Joe for the 
use of his callsign."

What is the proper way to get someone else's callsign to use?

I was thinking maybe of using XV7A or XU1A or something like that in the CQ 
WPX CW test.  73
