The original thread about not giving signal reports was started by Steve,
N2IC. He made the following statement:
"""Is anyone else bothered by serious WPX competitors not giving out a
signal report ?
"V. Exchange: RS(T) report plus a progressive contact three-digit serial
number"""
The thread then took 2 different tracks: One followed the necessity for the
signal report in a contest exchange. The other went off track about what a
signal report means etc.

I decided to put a poll on my website with a simple question:""""Should
signal reports be done away with in contests""""
After the first 24 hours there have been almost 100 votes. Here are the
result(so far): 65 want the signal report left in the exchange, 32 want it
eliminated.
As I've already said the poll is not scientific, I have no idea where the
votes came from or who is voting. The poll is secure in that it is
'supposed' to allow only one vote. My intent was to see what the overall
contest community felt rather than just the 3 or 4 guys who always have an
opinion on everything. Hopefully at least 1 or 2 members of the contest
committee are seeing this and that the majority, by 3 to 1, favor leaving
the exchange alone. I will leave the poll up for 3 or 4 more days to allow
those who haven't yet voted a chance to vote.
