No need to purchase the Icom level converter for $129. I'm controlling my
Icom IC-756PROIII using a REMOTE jack to USB port cable made in China that I
purchased on eBay for about $15 including shipping. The seller is a dealer
there, although I don't have his info right at hand. This setup works great
and saved me $$$. My Vista PC assigns it a COM port, which I then enter into
the configuration page on N1MM Logger.
Makes one wonder just what's in that Icom level converter.
I seem to recall that a lot of 1990s-era radios, including my Kenwood
TS-850S/AT, required some sort of additional/optional interface to enable
computer control.

Joe stay away from ICOM. They make you buy extra 'shtuff' to connect their
rigs to a computer. Yaesu and Kenwood are pretty much straight forward,
plug-n-play.

Now Nothing New mind you, I can not afford them thats for sure! So I
was wondering if anyone has made a web page that has listed what rigs
are computer controllable for use with many of the logging programs like
N1MM, N3FJP etc.
