The title of my prior post about my noise problem connecting a laptop
through a w5XD Multi-keyer to a K3 was worded so badly that I can only
apologize to Wayne, W5XD for using poor judgment. I have three W5XD
Multi-keyers, they have served me well over a long time and I have received
excellent support from Wayne, W5XD, both with regard to the Multi-keyers and
Writelog.

After making that post, Robert, K5PI, sent me a link to an Elecraft
Application Note that indicates:

"Some K3 owners have noted RF pickup problems in lines connected to the K3
rear-panel MIC, PHONES, PC
IN/OUT and RS-232 rear-panel connectors. This Application Note describes how
to improve the RF grounds on
those connectors by bypassing RF chokes in the ground return lines."

Since I am hearing the laptop polling the radio, this might actually be the
root cause of the problem. I'll have to check it out further.

73, Ken, K6LA / VY2TT
