it was so easy to view technology as all is ok if happened before 1953 as
i do. 

VFO choice receiver choice, logging techniques, an equal playing field at
the station since i got rid of the SX 101 as being too advanced for my
liking (1962).

the camel's nose was letting computer in the shack.

setting equipment and techniques by date is the AWA method; you have a
1929 contest and a 1946 contest. the 1929 one sets all TRANSMITTER
technology, the 1946 one sets both transmitter and receiver manufacturing
dates.

 here is where letter and spirit come in..................i am sure some
contestants use computers and ignore stick and manual typewriter
technology which were the norm of the day..........
