When I wrote my post, it occurred to me (once again) that those 
originally behind the NA Sprint were on to something.  Now that is a 
meaningful aggregate group competition - only problem is that it 
requires more work.

I wonder if perhaps some of the drivers then were similar to some of the 
root issues I think are at play here now?
