The number of submitted logs is not really a measure of the contest
popularity. The number of QSOs in the submitted logs would probably be a
better indicator. ARRL from UA9 is one of the most boring contests where the
best equipped station (3 el full size for 80m and high stacks from 40
through 10m bands) can only make 600-800 QSO in 48 hours. My personal
motivation to operate in ARRL is just to support friends there in NA and
give them a multiplier. So I am afraid the above conclusion is based on a
wrong assumptions. The only one time when ARRL was interesting from here was
many years ago when DX to DX contacts were counted for points.
