One benefit of the current Memorial Day weekend for WPX CW for those of us
still working is that it gives you Monday to recover. One can do a full effort
in WPX CW and still have a day left to recover or get those weekend chores
done.

The current date for WPX CW (last full weekend of May) is fine with me.
emorial Day is a minor holiday and it only applies to the U.S. anyway. And, the
nd-of-May date helps spread out the major contest weekends a little, allowing a
reak after the winter contest madness and before the IARU contest.
But, moving the contest to a better DX propagation date would be nice. How
about
pril or mid-October? If I were the WPX sponsor I would not be intimidated by
ny of the podunk operating activities on every weekend that hardly anybody
perates in. The WPX is a worldwide activity that should take precedence over
ontests of a parochial nature.
