Congratulations to the K3LR team who (modulo log checking) smashed the
KC1XX CQWW Phone M/M record held since 1999. It only took one sunspot
cycle (+ an extra year for good measure). Matt's team also surpassed
their record score, but unfortunately Mother Nature put on her Murphy
costume and wreaked some havoc.

While it's easy to determine the longest current CQWW records from the
web site, does anyone recall what the longest-held records were that
were eventually (already) broken? I believe KC1F set a 20 meter
single-band record sometime in the 1980s that Bob KQ2M beat in the
last few years. Have there been other long-standing records that were
eventually broken?

FWIW, Bob N6BFM holds the CQWW Phone USA record for 10 meter
single-band QRP (unassisted) set in 1990. That seems to be the oldest
current record in the USA/unassisted category.

Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C
