Getting motivated for SS SSB (notice that I did not say "Feh!") I was
reading through AA4NC/W4MR's tips on the PVRC web site.  Even back in 2006
he wrote:

"Keep a printed copy of the software manual at the operating position. A
help screen is no substitute, especially if the problem is the fact that
you can't GET to the help screen. There is a saying in aviation -- "Never
put down the airplane to fly the microphone." The same is true with
computers in radiosport -- don't let the computer distract you. Make it
easy. *Q's are made with the radio, not the computer*."

I'm just doing a pre-emptory response for the next time somebody suggets
that packet should be allowed for Single Op.
