Hi Folks,

The Getscores.org site has been simplified. Instead of a listing for
upcoming contests, the page simply displays a very flexible grid.
Contest names are shown in their native Cabrillo format.

There are many fields in the grid, including items like Country, Zone,
Club, etc. You may not be interested in these fields. You can turn
them off. However, you can also use them to group or filter on
information you want to look at.

A couple of people have asked me to explain how to use the filtering.
(I plan to make it a bit easier in the future, but it's not that
hard.). Once you've set it, you can leave it for the entire contest.

In the default grid, ALL scores from ALL contests will show up in the
grid. This makes for a lot of data after a while.

If you go to http://www.getscores.org, you will see the grid. At the
BOTTOM of the grid is a link called "Show Filter". Click on that.
When you do that, you will see a drop-down list at the bottom of each
column in the grid. This allows you to set a filter based on that
row.

Let's say you want to only look at scores for ARRL DX CW, which is
ARRL-DX-CW. To do that, simply click on the drop down in the Contest
column, and choose "Equal-To". Then, in the box below that, put
ARRL-DX-CW. Then, click the "Apply Filter" link at the bottom right.
If any ARRL-DX-CW stations are listed, they will be the only stations
in the grid.

Since there are many classes in the contest, it is nice to be able to
group by class. Once you have set the contest filter, you can simply
drag the column title to the black area at the top of the grid.
When you do this, it removes the column from the grid, and groups the
entries by that column. When you do this, you see all classes. If,
for example, you wanted to just see a single class, you could add a
filter to do that on the Class column (just like you did on the
Contest column.)

Let's say you wanted to show only stations in your Club who are
participating in ARRL DX CW. You would set the Contest filter, then
set a filter on the your club name. This will only work if all
members of your club post with the same name. (NOT YCCC then Yankee
Clipper Contest Club.)

No matter the filter or grouping, scores will be displayed in reverse
order, with the highest scores at the top of the grouping.

Have FUN and see you on the bands!

73, Gerry W1VE

(Please pass on to your club reflector or contest software site.)
