KG4CS 1970 ARRL SS PHONE Hour 22 - 50 Qs.

KG4CS 1972 ARRL DX SSB Hour 0 - 125 Qs
(Ended up Third Place, World, SB-102 no AMP).

I brought that 1972 hand written log to Dayton
a couple of years ago, and N6AA saw my fifth
QSO was a bust of his old callsign!

Hi,

I have a question for old time contesters. Before the Internet, packet
radio, DX clusters and skimmers, what were typical CW and SSB contest
running rates? I imagine they must have been much less than current ones.
