Someone recently pointed out a provision in the Russian DX test rules as
support for his premise that some contest organizers frown on remote
operation.
This was the rule in question:
"*5.1.2* Using any IP net for the remote transceiving, including web
radiostations is unsportsmanlike and the entry is subject to
disqualification."
A Russian friend checked with the organizers, who confirmed my
understanding that the intent of their rule was to prevent cheating by
the use of receivers and/or transmitters remote from the declared
station location. They say they will re-write the rule before next year
to make it clear that legitimate remote operation like CQ8X is allowed.
