All this discussion - SO1R or SO2R/2V, then pick: hand-turned-knob or SDR 
w/blips or SDR w/local skimmer or Cluster skimmer spots.
 
This seems to confirm the need for 2 Single Operator categories of entry:
 
SO Unlimited AB - one transmitted signal at any given time, follow your 
country's power limits, no remote audio receivers.
 
SO AB - It's hard to know what goes on here. Just hope that after spending 
thousands of $$$, taking vacation days, and then sitting
sleep deprived on the radio for 2 days, that your fellow competitors (it is a 
contest remember) have chosen to utilize the same level
of technology as you. So that your position in the top 10,20,30 or whatever is 
a valid measure of how you did in the competition.
 
Eventually one of the above WILL dominate, no need to make changes, it WILL 
sort itself out in the years to come.
