*Hawaii QSO Party 2014*
Just a reminder the 2014 Hawaii QSO Party is the fourth weekend of August.
It runs 48 hours from Saturday August 23th 04:00Z to 04:00Z August 25th.
That’s Friday August 22nd 18:00 in Hawaii to 18:00 Sunday August 24th.
Hawaii stations are invited to help Hams get confirmation on 10, 15, 20,
40, 80 and 160. HQP has had a number of requests for CW, RTTY and digital
mode contacts. Single Op stations are encouraged to participate even a few
hours during the contest. Share your station with new Ham friends who
don’t yet have HF stations to increase the number of Hawaii calls.
Technicians can compete in their own category on 10 meters.
During HQP the world turns their beams to Hawaii. This is an opportunity
to work lots of DX.
Bev, AH6NF, is taking a team to Kalaupapa again this year, giving county
hunters a rare chance to confirm Kalawao County. The group will use the
call KH6BWG and plan to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and digital. They will also
be operating from 8-21-14 before the contest. They may be using individual
call signs as well. KH6FP, KH7C, AH6NF, KH7U.
Hams on the neighbor island are multipliers for stations entering the
competition. As in previous years there will be award certificates and
plaques for stations submitting logs.
