FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE(May 3, 2015) – The 63rd annual W9DXCC DXConvention and 
Banquet will be held September 11-12, 2015, in Schaumburg,Illinois. Sponsored 
by the Northern Illinois DX Association, the event is anARRL-approved operating 
specialty convention. One new addition this year is aContest University program 
that will join the DX University on Friday. Bothtracks will have presentation 
for new and veteran DXers and contest operators.The daylong convention on 
Saturday will feature a full program of speakers,exhibits, QSL card checking, a 
CW pileup contest and many prizes. The Banquet onSaturday evening is a time to 
relax with keynote speaker Riley Hollingsworth,K4ZDH, former FCC Special 
Counsel for Spectrum Enforcement, as well as the DXCountdown and grand prizes. 
The convention is scheduled one week earlier thannormal because of hotel 
availability. Woodfield Mall, which offers a wide arrayof shopping, is one 
traffic light south of the convention site.

DX University and Contest University – Friday

·        ContestingBasics: What is radio sport?  Why doit?  Why should you do 
it?  The language of contesting. Ethics.·        Typesand conduct of contests: 
A discussion of the various types of contests,examples, contest exchanges and 
contest scoring.·        Hardwareand software for the new contester: 
differences in hardware and ergonomics forcontesting, antennas, logging 
software and on-line resources.·        RTTYcontesting: How to setup for RTTY, 
sample exchanges, how to operate and demos.·        Low 
BandDXing·        DXSeminar discussion·        Antennasand transmission 
lines·        PortableDXing·        Daily DXing:The road to multi-band DXCC and 
tools to improve efficiency
