Bare AL wire in the ground, especially one that thin, will probably be

I got somehow a huge roll of about #20 springy aluminum wire and put it all
out in various lengths, running some down into a nearby lake.
Pity the current homeowner when he begins a garden.
Wire worked ok. Charly

Does the gauge of radial wire on the ground make much difference in

I have a reel of 1000' of 12 conductor telephone wire. Each conductor is
very thin, but that is 12,000' of radials. Should I use it for radials?
