What MJ is doing is called (I think), "dueling pileups." When I get some
time (which at this point probably means in a couple of years), I'd be
curious about trying it. I'm not a mutant like Trey or Dan, just a decent
rate addict, but I'm always curious what can get me (or others) past certain
barriers. For a long time, I could never break 200 Qs per hour. Finally,
Rich KL7RA mentioned that the guys who do it, usually send manually while
they log, something that was easy for me (I am left handed, but send with my
right), but had avoided because I thought it was bad practice. Lo and
behold next hour (it was early in a ARRL DX CW), was 220 plus.
At present, that barrier for me seems to be at around 250. Part of it no
doubt is my relative newness to SO2R, not to mention that it appears that
the guys who are *really* good at SO2R, use separate computers/keyboards.
That's the next project.
A limit within the limit as best as I can tell (at least for me), is 5 or
very occasionally 6 Qs in a minute. As I said, I'm not a mutant, but even
at my level, even in a high volume minute, there is some dead time, someone
sending a bit slowly, a request for NR? Or something like that that causes a
full exchange repeat etc. I doubt I could handle the density that a MJ
does, but I think I could make some additional Qs, if they were stacked for
me, rather than trying to S&P while running the single pile. Like SO2R, I
think "Dueling Pileups" is gonna get proven by the mutants, then come down
to us mere mortals.

True, Steve and Doug, KR2Q, did clarify this.
For everyone watch the video. There are two big red lights (LEDs?) on top
of each radio. When the left hand radio is transmitting the red light on
the right hand radio is on (locked out?) and when the right hand radio is
transmitting the red light on the left hand radio (not as easily seen) is
on.
Most of us still think that he's a mutant. :-)
