Basically, there is no difference.
For a CQ on a contest frequency band using the contest transmit mode, it is
a call in the contest.
For a CQ on internet is a CQ on the internet.
The difference comes from the missing internet contest.
Or is there an internet contest where you can call CQ on some cluster
network?
The true contest CQ is from ladies and gentlemen to ladies and gentlemen.
The self spots come from other kinds of sources.
And, the self spots are disguised as honest messages to the good folks.
Why do they need to disguise themselves?
