Greetings Diddlers:

Good solid group last week, with everyone’s qso total into double digits. Yes,
we have the dupe rule, but everyone is getting plenty of practice making Qs in
the Sprint format. Which is slightly different from all those -other- contests.

Our (sort of) new station of the week is Larry, K5SNA. I’m pretty sure he’s
been with us before, but not for a while that I can remember. One of our
regulars, Dick, KS0M had a major radio failure so has missed the last few
sessions. He is getting a new radio, so as soon as the brown truck brings his
new acquisition he’ll be back with us.

As an interesting aside, Eric (Ty) NO3M is playing with a Model 28 Teleprinter.
Yes, a real “Greenkeys” machine. So he has been copying many of our Qs and
printing them on real paper as he readies for an assault on the RTTY world. We
may have to adopt the new “Real Iron” class if this type of operation gets
popular.

While the upcoming weekend is the CW Sprint, the following one is the real,
honest-to-goodness NCJ sponsored RTTY Sprint. So not much time to get
everything settled. 4 full hours of knob twisting, keyboard pounding fun!

So if you need a refresher of Sprint operation or just enjoy it so much you
can’t get enough, please join us this Thursday evening for some quality
keyboard time.

Here are the details for our usual Thursday evening session:
Friday, 8 Sept 2017, 0145Z - 0215Z (Thursday, 7 Sept 2017 in NA)
-- 1845 - 1915 PDT
-- 2145 - 2215 EDT
-- (others in-between those two)
-- 160: 1805 and up
-- 80/40/20/15/10 +80kHz up from the band edge (start checking those higher
bands!)
-- Same band dupes ok after 1 intervening Q.
-- 1 kHz QSY rule, otherwise standard Sprint rules
-- Mults per band
-- 100W power limit

Please visit http://www.ncccsprint.com/rttyns.html for complete rules and links

For something new (and exciting?), give the live scoreboard a try at
https://contestonlinescore.com . Set up your logger to report and select the
NCCC NA RTTY SPRINT on the web page to display the scores. The Help menu
pulldown will give you the info needed to setup the most common logging
programs.
Don’t forget to report your score to 3830scores.com, and join us at 0300Z on
3610 kHz (+/- a few for ongoing groups) for comments and questions (and dinner
menus).

Diddle diddle,

Ken K6MR
