That is not self spotting.   I spot lots of things that I don't work or can't work or stations I already worked in contests and outside contests.  Who knows if the op will see and understand the meaning of your spot.

Self spotting is you trying to run on a freq and using your call or another call to spot that frequency so people can find you.
